Hugo privacy
Public summaries. Private details.
This policy explains the limited information Hugo uses to run its marketplace website, applications, and accounts.
Updated August 23, 2026Information we collect
When you create an account, we receive your name, email address, authentication identifiers, and account status. If you list a business or create a buyer or investor profile, we keep the information you submit about the business, your role, and your preferences.
Direct contact information, confidential financial details, and documents are not published on public pages. Hugo stores document metadata and access state in its application database, not file bytes, Social Security numbers, government-ID images, bank credentials, or payment-card data.
How we use it
We use this information to authenticate you, review applications, operate the marketplace, protect the platform, respond to requests, and meet legal obligations. Hugo does not sell personal information or use application content for third-party advertising.
Who helps us operate Hugo
We use service providers for authentication, hosting, data storage, security, and related infrastructure. They process information for Hugo under their own contractual and security obligations. The current product uses WorkOS for sign-in and Cloudflare infrastructure for application services.
Storage and retention
We keep account, application, and marketplace records for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain a review trail, resolve disputes, and comply with law. You may ask us to delete information that we are not required to retain.
Your choices
You can request access, correction, or deletion by emailing hello@hugoconnects.com. Some records may need to be retained for legal, security, or marketplace-review reasons.
Children and changes
Hugo is for adults using the marketplace and is not directed to children under 18. We may update this policy as the product changes.
